Chat apps write in markdown. The ** around a word means bold, a ## starts a heading, a dash or star at the start of a line is a bullet. Where the app shows them as formatting, your document shows them as literal symbols.
With markdown cleaning on, Plaincopy removes those marks and keeps the words: bold and italic markers, heading hashes, bullet markers, quote marks at the start of lines, backticks, strikethrough and code fences. Links become the link text with the address in brackets.
On top of that it clears hidden characters, straightens quotes and swaps em dashes for commas, since those are on in this preset. Untick any option you do not want. Numbered lists are left as they are.

Will it turn markdown tables into tables?
No. Tables are left as pipes and dashes. Pro cleans Word files in place and does not convert markdown.

What about code blocks?
The fence lines and backticks are removed and the code stays.

How do I cancel?
Use the Stripe billing page (link under Pricing, "Manage or cancel") and sign in with the email you paid with. Cancelling stops the next charge and Pro ends at the end of the period you paid for.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Pasted text and files are cleaned inside your browser. Our server only checks that a payment is active.
